Humans have four important aspects to their make up: mind, emotions, body and spirit. When one area is awry the others are affected. To begin a weight loss program that's healthy and permanent, first three steps must be incorporated.

• The body systems need to be cleansed.
• The body systems need to be rebuilt.
• The mind and emotions have to be balanced.

Follow the three steps in order, until each one is mastered.

If the colon isn't releasing waste, the waste becomes toxic, toxins then leak back into the colon and into the blood stream.

Pounds of waste can be stored, creating a sense that the body needs more nutrition, which means eating more. Subsequently, there's lack of energy for exercise leading to more weight gain. Cascara sagrada, an herb, is a good choice for cleansing the colon.

The liver needs cleansing as well, which can take two weeks. The liver, a vital organ, can become toxic from pollution in air, water and food. People working in high toxic areas (bus drivers, hairdressers, painters, etc) should allow longer for detoxification. The best herb is milk thistle.

When the colon and liver are toxic, so is the blood, for the blood supplies these organs. A gentle,effected blood cleanser is red clover.

After detoxification don't refill your body with refined sugars, MSG, and aspartame. These three ingredients hinder weight loss and overall good health. They're hard to give up due to pleasure-giving effect. Stevia is a good alternative to refined sugar and sugar substitutes.

Hydrogenated oils make cells stiff, like plastic, cells should be flexible. Stiff cells cannot retrieve needed nutrients. Switch to real butter and un hydrogenated oils when cooking.

They're higher in fat, so use less; adding spices for flavoring is helpful. Sniffing therapeutic grade essential oils daily will oxygenate the cells, helping to counteract the effects from hydrogenated oils.

The first two steps go hand in hand, the body is being detoxified by the same herbs that rebuild
the body systems.

To balance the mind and emotions, observe yourself as if you were observing a stranger.

Monitoring for emotional and mental triggers that causes overeating and enables emotional and mental patterns to be reset, do this for at least two weeks Keep a journal of the signals that precede the desire to eat more than you need.

It could be boredom, anxiety,depression, or just to keep busy. Find a substitute for food such as walking, mediation/ prayer, or inhaling essential oils.

Now lifestyle change can begin; a healthy eating program is the key to maintaining weight loss.

After cleansing the body, rebuilding it, and becoming mentally and emotionally balanced, eating healthily will be much easier to live with.

A healthy diet advocates a healthy balance of good foods, moderate exercise and nutritional supplements.
